The Witcher: Season 4 | First Look | Netflix

In the opening episode, tensions rise across the Continent, with the Nilfgaardian Empire gaining more ground. Geralt, now fully committed to protecting Ciri (Freya Allan), leads her and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) to Kaer Morhen, the Witchers’ stronghold, hoping to keep her safe from those who seek to use her powers for their own gain. However, it becomes clear that Ciri’s destiny is more dangerous and significant than they ever imagined. Throughout the season, she grapples with her growing magical abilities and learns the truth about her connection to the Elder Blood, a potent force that could alter the fate of the world.

Yennefer, who has reconciled with Geralt, takes a more active role in mentoring Ciri in the ways of magic. But her own struggles with the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, who are deeply suspicious of her motives and her relationship with Geralt, create tension. Yennefer’s loyalty to Ciri and Geralt is put to the test when she is offered a chance to reclaim her former power in exchange for betraying them.

Meanwhile, the Wild Hunt, a spectral group of otherworldly riders, emerges as the primary antagonists of the season. They seek Ciri, believing her to be the key to conquering not only the Continent but multiple realms. Their pursuit of her is relentless, leading to a series of harrowing battles that push Geralt and his companions to their limits. The Wild Hunt’s terrifying presence brings an existential threat to the entire world, and their backstory is slowly unraveled throughout the season.

One of the most heart-wrenching twists comes in the mid-season finale when Geralt is gravely injured in a battle with one of the Wild Hunt’s lieutenants. This leaves Ciri and Yennefer to fend for themselves, testing Ciri’s growth as both a fighter and a sorceress.

As the season builds towards its dramatic conclusion, Ciri must confront her destiny head-on, making a fateful decision that could either save or destroy the Continent.
