COCO 2 (2025)

The trailer for Coco 2 (2025) opens with a vibrant and colorful celebration in Santa Cecilia, reminiscent of the lively Día de los Muertos festivities from the first film. Familiar faces fill the screen as we see Miguel, now a young man in his 20s, continuing his musical journey. He strums his guitar, serenading the town, as the marigold petals from the Land of the Dead begin to swirl around him, a sign that something magical is about to happen.

The trailer shifts tone as Miguel’s grandmother, Abuelita, tells him about a new mystery threatening the delicate balance between the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead. The ofrendas that families put up during Día de los Muertos are no longer bringing their ancestors across, and spirits are becoming trapped, unable to visit their loved ones. The cause is unknown, but the situation is dire, and it’s spreading throughout Mexico.

Miguel realizes he must once again journey to the Land of the Dead to solve the problem. With a newfound sense of responsibility, he strums his guitar and crosses over, landing in the vibrant and mystical underworld. The trailer shows stunning new environments in the Land of the Dead, filled with floating islands and ancient spirits who hold the secrets to this imbalance.

As Miguel searches for answers, he reconnects with his late family members, including Héctor and Imelda, who play vital roles in the plot. They warn him about a powerful, mysterious figure from deep within the forgotten corners of the afterlife who seeks to destroy the bond between the two worlds forever.

The trailer teases emotional reunions, breathtaking visuals, and plenty of musical moments as Miguel teams up with both new and old friends. A hint of a new song, just as touching as Remember Me, plays as the stakes rise. We see Miguel running through the glowing streets of the Land of the Dead, battling time to restore the connection between the living and the dead.

The trailer ends with a haunting yet hopeful line from Miguel’s late great-grandmother, Mama Coco, as her spirit emerges: “Family is forever, but sometimes, we need to fight to keep it together.”

Coco 2 promises an emotional and visually stunning return to the world that touched hearts worldwide.
